From buyout to warranty walk-through, our Project Managers are involved in every aspect of the construction process. With heavy interaction among all the other internal departments, in addition to field and customer relations, our Project Management department is well rounded and familiar with each facet of the trade.
Within estimating, PM’s are fluent enough with HCSS’s Heavy Bid to contribute to the buyout process, as well as, reviewing and properly presenting extra work and design change orders pricing. Accounting, both payable and receivable, requires PM’s to be experts at an intricate coding system, competent with software and technology upgrades, (including multiple modules in Timberline and HCSS) and able to track costs and bill accordingly. Even equipment and maintenance requires a PM’s attention as does any other cost, committed or incidental. In fact, cost control is one of the primary responsibilities for PM’s. From committed cost in generating subcontracts and purchase orders, to credit card and expensibles, PM is the first line of defense (beyond operations) to cost control.
Of course a strong field background and operations experience is essential. And is the foremost contribution to not only project preventative maintenance, but effective trouble shooting when issues arise. All this is combined with a strong sense of customer service and willingness to view not only our clients, but our supervisors and other employees as customers; making Project Management ever exciting, as rewarding as it is challenging, and a key component in the M. Hanna Construction Co. team.
